Customer Consultant

About the role

There are two types of Customer Consultant: Customer Consultant Retail (who can sell the full range of retail products, but not mortgages) and Customer Consultant Retail & Mortgages (who can sell the full range of retail products and offer mortgage advice to customers). A Customer Consultant Retail & Mortgages will need to have a CEMAP (or equivalent) qualification.

Why the two roles? Because we realised that not everyone wishes to become authorised. We also wanted to make sure that there wouldn’t be any obstacles to developing a career with us.

So what will you do? The majority of your time will be spent face-to-face with customers, talking through their financial situation, identifying what their needs are and matching them up with exactly the right product.

You’ll get your leads from our teams of Customer Representatives, so you’ll spend time with the Representatives and coach and mentor them to recommend our products accurately and honestly. Mindless selling this isn’t: we want to be fair and helpful when we offer advice to our customers, so you’ll help make sure we get that balance right.

When new products are added to our range, you’ll be the first to know: we’ll give you all the training and coaching you need to know them inside out.
